Since 2001 Jam Academy (International Academy of Modern Music) has offered to more than 5000 students the opportunity to discover and enhance their musical talent. The courses are divided into Basic Courses and Higher Education: Bachelor of Arts in Performance and Bachelor of Arts in Technology and Production. The school is located in the city of Lucca.
 

The city of Lucca - Tuscany

Lucca is an Italian city counting 90.000 inhabitants, in northern tuscany. It’s 18km aparts from Pisa, 30km from Viareggio (the seaside) and 85km from florence. Lucca is one of the most sought after “città d’arte” in Italy, due to its many monuments. Lucca is also well known for its Renaissance walls, built in the 15th century. Lucca has been nicknamed “the city with 100 curches” because of the many chapels and cult centers within its walls.

One of the most fascinating scenery in Lucca must be its “piazza anfiteatro” a square built on the remains of a roman amphitheater, renovated by Lorenzo Nottolini.

For this and many other reasons there’s been recently a proposition to include Lucca walls iside Unesco’s World Heritage Sites.

Among its famous citizens Lucca can count on world famous musician, maestro Giacomo Puccini, born in Lucca december 22nd 1858. Among his most famous  composition we remember Tosca (1900) and Madama Butterfly (1904), thanks to which the maestro became a world class composer and one of the most rich musicians of his time. Inside the city walls, in the center, we can find his native house and a museum dedicated to his legacy. During the year many concerts are held to commemorate Puccini’s wonderful music.

Furthermore, one of the biggest and most interesting music festivals in Italy is held in Lucca every summer: Lucca Summer festival has hosted shows from the likes of ELTON JOHN, HERBIE HANCOCK, JOE COCKER, DAVID BOWIE, JAMIROQUAI, TOM JONES, LIONEL RICHIE, ROGER WATERS, etc.
